The Story Of "The Doughnut Girls"
Did you know that a major role of the civilian during
WW l ( since 1917) was giving donuts to soldiers both
on the home front and on the battle field?
**Special thanks to the Salvation Army for their efforts
throughout the World and their support for this site**
Special thanks to American Airline Stewardess ( like
Pat) who are proudly wearing civilian combat vet lapel
pins
This memorial day of 2008, herd the TV, Radio,
read the Paper, they had parades and other events
for the Military Veterans. But did anyone here of
them including the civilians who have also served
our country and the fight for freedom??
I have for the past 2 months, been passing the
word on either with handouts, attending
trike/car/shows with my civilian combat vet trike.
At the 4th Annual Fallen Bikers Memorial Rally in
Salida, Co ( May 23-26, 2008) A lot of good
Americans asked and was informed of the civilian
combat veteran. Lots of hand shakes, thanks for
serving really dug deep in my heart. They had over
1,000 in attendance for the Rally, and they will head
home with a new term they learned.
They not only put on a good rally, but they all had
their hearts open for the Memorial Holiday.
Someday, the civilian will also be mentioned just as
our brave Military has been. After all it was civilians
who was at the Boston tea Party, the civilian
members of the militia who fought for our
independence from England, the Dr's and nurses at
Bull Run and Shilo during the Civil War, WWl
Salvation Army's Donut Girls, Viet Nam there was
Air America and today in the middle east, the
civilian is still there. Where there is need, we will
heed!
The fight for Freedom for all.
